Creative Workshops

I believe that every human has creative potential. Creativity requires a playfulness, an openness, a curiosity to the unknown. Many people have become blocked or stuck. A common response to the question, "Are you creative?" is "I can't draw a straight line!". However, it is not the "straight line" that is creative, but the curved, unexpected, or wavy line. ~
The workshops I offer allow for those blocks to become "unstuck". Many people avoid creative arts workshops due to fear, lack of confidence in their creative potential, or past experiences with art instruction that offered rigid expectations. My workshops offer creative expansion, leading you down a path of openness, self-trust, playfulness, and risk-taking.
Each workshop will offer specific techniques to help you gain the skills you need to unleash the creativity within. You will leave each workshop with completed projects, each one a little different from the one before... as we are never the same in each moment of life. You will also be provided handouts so you may continue your creative exploration outside of the classes.
Whimsical Watercolors 1 ~
An introduction to watercolors. This is a very playful workshop, so expect to have FUN! You will learn at least 10 creative techniques and have an opportunity to explore these and leave with two matted pieces!
Whimsical Watercolors II ~
An extension of the introductory class. We will expand your skill set, learn how to express emotion and season through color and tone, and create a mini-watercolor booklet.
Warming Your Soul through Watercolors and Relaxation ~
After surviving the holidays, it is time to re-energize, nurture ourselves, and warm our spirits with creativity. This workshop includes guided imagery, soft music to guide creative expression, and exploration of watercolor techniques. No artistic abilities necessary!
